• (1) SDS gel buffer: Buffer at a pH of 8.0 containing 0.2% (w/w) SDS and an appropriate hydrophilic polymer acting as a molecular sieve1
• (2) Internal standard solution: 5 mg/mL of 10 kDa internal standard2 in water containing 0.5% (w/w) SDS and 0.2% (w/v)sodium azide
• (3) Capillary: Fused-silica capillary (i.d. 50 mm) cut to a total length of 30 cm with an effective length of 20 cm.3 The following preconditioning and prefilling steps are required between each run.
